Refraction: Experiments in Isolation" is the result of an experimental research in film and movement in collaboration with Daniel Barkan and Guillaume Versteeg.
The experiments reflect on the experiences had during a voluntary lock-up in the cells of the Pieter Baan Centrum by Guillaume Versteeg, and the translation of these experiences in motion, sound and image. Detached from time and social interaction it's a reflection on the mental cessation felt during isolation. The necessary physical nature of the reaffirmation of the self.
