From 28 February to 10 March 2019, Muziektheater BOT played the location performance 'Het Geluid Van Het Museum' in Museum Arnhem.
Since November 2017, the beautiful Museum Arnhem on Utrechtseweg has been waiting for a much-needed renovation. Build in 1875, the building houses the municipal museum since 1920. Due to its popularity, the museum was quickly expanded. Several museum directors, including Pierre Janssen, gave the museum an international reputation with a collection of magical realism and attracted an increasingly wider audience with current exhibitions. Recently it was announced that Museum Arnhem will return to this special building after the renovation.
In the past years, BOT has made thirteen performances in the series 'Het Geluid Van' ('The Sound Of'), always in a building that later disappeared or was given a different function. This time, under the direction of Marcel Sijm, BOT is creating a performance in a building that will remain, and will soon resume its function in all its glory. In the vacuum between the old and the new museum, BOT reflects on the question of what the museum actually thinks about it.
